Faculty Introduction:

The Faculty of Business and Social Sciences offers students the opportunity to complete courses in Business, Citizenship and Health & Social Care.

Business and Health & Social Care can be taken as an option in Year 10 where students will study BTEC Level 2 (GCSE A*-C) qualifications. The assessment for both subjects is 25% exam and 75% coursework.

Citizenship is taken by all students in KS3 and in KS4 it can be taken as one of the optional GCSEs. Assessment for the course is 40% exam and 60% controlled assessment.

All subjects within the faculty are also offered as A levels in KS5 (6th Form). Courses are chosen for their relevance and suitability to the needs and learning styles of all students. All qualifications are recognised by UCAS and students successfully complete their course will achieve the relevant UCAS points needed for further higher education.

Subjects within the faculty have a strong practical element and allow students the opportunity to develop essential life skills and become independent learners.
