KS4 Curriculum Intro:
Students will study the AQA GCSE Spanish course at either Foundation level (grades C – G) or Higher level (grades A* - D). Students will complete controlled assessments in Speaking in Year 11 in November and February. Writing controlled assessments will take place in the December and March of Year 11. Students will also take examinations in Reading and Listening in the Summer of Year 11.
COURSE OUTLINE: Unit 1 – Listening = 20% ; Unit 2 – Reading = 20%; Unit 3 Speaking = 30%; Unit 4 – Writing = 30%
Students will further develop their use of the past tense, begin to develop their use of the future tense and start to use the conditional and imperfect tenses. Most of Year 10 will be spent developing students written and spoken language skills in order to be fully prepared for the controlled assessments. They will acquire knowledge and understanding of the target language, develop language skills, develop language learning skills and further develop cultural awareness.
