Year 11 students at The Totteridge Academy (TTA) have had a fantastic morning as they received their GCSE results.
In what was yet another incredibly impressive performance, a third of students (33%) achieved a grade 7 or above in both English and maths. 71% of them achieved at least a grade 5 in the two subjects, with 88% achieving at 4 or above on the same measure.
Individual subject areas were also celebrating some excellent achievements – in English alone, half of the whole year group gained a grade 7 or higher.
Students were the star of the show today at the school as they were congratulated by their teachers and reflected on their hard work to date. Among those celebrating particular standout performances were: Shahil Shah, Ethan Lands, Ted Echlin and Atrina Pirzadh, who got mostly 9s.
Chris Fairbairn, Principal of The Totteridge Academy, said:
“These Year 11s have been a brilliant group of young people to teach and to work with and their excitement and pride today are a privilege to see. Each of them deserves to celebrate what they have achieved and can look forward to their next steps in education, knowing that they’ve shown exceptional dedication and hard work.
“Our staff have been amazing in the support, guidance and encouragement they offer our young people and I know how much it means to them to see students’ efforts reflected with some excellent outcomes. I’d like to thank colleagues, as well as parents, families and our wider school community, for everyone’s part in supporting students in this success.”
