THE TOTTERIDGE ACADEMY CELEBRATES STELLAR GCSE RESULTS
Students at The Totteridge Academy in North London are celebrating after receiving a fantastic set of GCSE results.
An impressive 88% of students achieved a grade four or above in both English and maths, with over three quarters (76%) achieving a grade 5 or above in both core subjects.
Amongst those celebrating today include:
· Enver Onguc who achieved eight grade 9s and one Distinction;
· Priscilla Kaloci who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8;
· Weronika Jezierska who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8;
· Hannah Morris who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8;
· Ryan Moran who achieved seven grade 9s, one grade 8 and one grade 7;
· Olivia Defosse who achieved six grade 9s, two grade 8s and one grade 6;
· Alessandro Panto who achieved five grade 9s, three grade 8s and one grade 7.
These excellent results follow on from last week’s A Level success, which saw students secure a raft of top grades, allowing them to take up places at a range of prestigious universities, including the University of Cambridge. With almost half (47%) of all entries receiving A*/A, this year’s results were exceptionally strong and meant that students secured places at a number of Russell Group institutions.
Many of the school’s Year 11s are now looking forward to continuing their studies at the academy’s thriving Sixth Form in September.
Commenting on students’ achievements, Chris Fairbairn, Principal at The Totteridge Academy, said:
“I would like to congratulate all our students on a brilliant set of GCSE grades. They have shown remarkable commitment to their studies and I am thrilled that their hard work has been rewarded today. Our wonderful staff do so much to ensure that all students are able to achieve highly and I would also like to thank them for their phenomenal work.
“Come September, many of our students will be continuing their studies with us as they join our Sixth Form to begin their A Level courses – we very much look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces to TTA and are delighted that they will enrich what is already a strong and successful Sixth Form at the school.”
